Tetbury Woolsack races have no greater aim than for individuals and teams to demonstrate their strength and fitness by racing whilst carrying a sack of wool u2;013 up and down a hill that reaches a gradient of 1 in 4. The Stroud Valleys lie on the western edge of the Cotswold Hills. A festival for each of the five valleys converging on the historic town of Stroud. True Cotswold Countryside event. Traditional one day Agricultural and Horse Show in a parkland setting with competitions for horses, cattle (including the National Show of Poll Hereford Cattle), sheep (including the National Show of Cotswold Sheep), goats, poultry, dogs, crafts, flowers and even scarecrows. Over 300 trade stands selling everything from farm equipment and gardening gear to designer clothes and toys, as well as a wide selection of food and drink, complemented by a full day of family entertainment.

Tetbury Food & Drink Festival
The 2014 Tetbury Food and Drink Festival takes place from 17th - 21st September. There are a number of events planned including the annual gathering of the Gloucestershire Old Spot Sausage Appreciation Society on the 17th at the Close Hotel in Tetbury, A fabulous happening at Highgrove on the 18th home to TRH Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, Vegetarian Evening at Café 53 and a charitable fundraising event on Sat 20th with WSP Sols at the Market Hall. Even on a cold, crisp day in December, the magic remains with two days of the hottest Jump racing around. A great opportunity to watch the stars of the sport fight it out for their slice of over £500,000 worth of prize money, featuring one of the most important hurdle races of the season, the Stan James International Hurdle.

North Cotswolds Hunt, Broadway
Hundreds of people descended on the village of Broadway to see the horses and hounds of the North Cotswold Hunt. Up to 70 mounted horses meet at The Kennels in Broad Close for the traditional meet. Normally sets off down the High Street around 11.00am.

Bibury Duck Race
The annual Bibury Duck Race is one of Gloucestershireu2;019s more unusual traditions, pulling in the crowds from far and wide. Every year, usually at 11am on Boxing Day, the small, picturesque and tranquil village of Bibury is transformed as hundreds of spectators wrap up in the their woolly hats and scarves to gather along the River Coln which runs through the village.
