The Manor House Hotel was formerly the home of the Creswick (or Creswyke) family
who were prominent in Moreton-in-Marsh during the 17th and 18th centuries. It
is generally believed that the mulberry tree, which still stands in the grounds of the
hotel, dates from that time.
Mulberry trees fruit in the late summer, producing plump black berries. We harvest
the tree in August and September and use the fruit to make 'Mulberry Manor Cake',
jam for our famous afternoon tea and syrup, which we use in cocktails in the Mulberry Bar.
The Mulberry Restaurant undertakes to use local and seasonal produce, using its
strong links with local specialised suppliers to highlight the talents of the chef and
the great food of the heart of England.
