Enjoy England Award for Excellence 2011 - Small Hotel of the Year - Gold Award

The Bay Tree Hotel at Burford beat hundreds of competitors to be chosen by the judges as 'Small Hotel of the Year' at the Enjoy England Award for Excellence 2011. It is the ‘Oscars’ of English tourism and pays tribute to the best hotels, B&Bs and attractions in the country.

The award was announced at a gala ceremony at The Great Hall, University of Birmingham on Friday April 15, 2011.

“We are absolutely delighted to be named hotel of the year,” said Mr Horton, owner of The Bay Tree Hotel. “It is a tremendous honour and a great reward for general manager Quintin Fisher and his team.

“This is the most important award we have received since launching the business,” said Mr Horton. “The Bay Tree was one of the first hotels we purchased so it has a special place in our hearts."

Mr & Mrs Horton acquired The Bay Tree in 1997. It was the first hotel within the group that Mrs Horton completely refurbished.
