Chosen by The Times as one of the UK's "coolest places to stay"
Nestled in the heart of the vibrant Cotswold town of Tetbury stands The Close Hotel, a contemporary take on country-house style, this former town house dating back to the 16th century oozes charm and sophistication.
Our aim at The Close Hotel is to make you feel welcome and relaxed from the moment you arrive, whether joining us for cocktails in the elegant bar, an afternoon by the fire or a well deserved weekend break.
Throughout the day The Brasserie, overlooking the walled garden and terrace, serves a relaxed and unpretentious menu of British dishes with a modern twist. In the evenings, the lights are dimmed, the candles lit and the atmosphere is intimate and relaxed, where you can choose from the extensive Brasserie menu or the sophisticated Dining Room dinner menu which showcases Head Chef David Brown’s flair and imagination.
No two rooms at The Close are alike. Each of the eighteen bedrooms are individually styled to reflect its character and charm, some with views over the peaceful garden or historic Tetbury high street all stocked with luxury toiletries and quality bedding - promising a wonderful nights sleep!
The contemporary and traditional style complimented with friendly and professional service creates a really welcoming and warm atmosphere - we hope to see you soon!
Originally built in 1535 during the reign of King Henry VIII for John Steede a local Yeoman, the house has had many owners including Sir Thomas Estcourt, a wealthy wool merchant of the period, and became a hotel in 1974.
