You’ll find the magnificent Hare and Hounds Hotel set within acres of beautiful gardens and woodland in the heart of Westonbirt, near Tetbury. With a mellow Cotswold stone facade and neighbours including the National Arboretum and Royal Highgrove Estate; The Hare and Hounds Hotel boasts a setting to remember for your big day.
Dating back to 1854, The Hare and Hounds has plenty of character – think original fireplaces, big bay windows and a whole host of cosy snugs and lounges. For your wedding day, you’ll have sole use of one wing of the hotel to celebrate your special day, not to mention a dedicated entrance for your guests to arrive in style, a private bar and direct access to the perfectly manicured gardens.
What’s more, with 42 country-style bedrooms, we’ve got plenty of space for your guests to stay the night and enjoy breakfast with you the following morning. For the Bride and Groom, we have something extra special up our sleeve… Game Keeper’s Cottage; a romantic retreat for two, with super king-size bed and private hot tub! Combine all of this with carefully tailored menus, plenty of fizz and an enthusiastic, experienced team, and you’re sure to create the big day of your dreams.

Wedding Spaces
We love a good wedding here and so do our team of talented staff. Warm, welcoming and relaxing, The Hare and Hounds Hotel will become your home from home as we help you to plan the day you’ve dreamed of. Find out a little bit more about our collection of wonderful rooms to host your big day below…
Westonbirt Room
The Westonbirt Room is our largest space, seating up to 120 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, and accommodating up to 150 for your evening reception. With its neutral colour scheme and woodland-inspired wallpaper, it’s already beautiful – but just wait until we’ve given it the personal touch, dressing the room with your carefully chosen accessories!
Just outside the Westonbirt Room, you’ll find your own private bar with a small seating area and direct access to the garden. The Westonbirt bar area also boasts its own entrance, providing a real wow-factor for evening reception guests – especially when decorated with quirky signs, tea lights and bunting.
You are welcome to have your ceremony, wedding breakfast, evening reception (or all three!) in the Westonbirt Room, and can rest assured that however you’d like your wedding set up on the day, our experienced team will make everything runs smoothly.
Beaufort Lounge & Restaurant
With a high beamed ceiling and stunning views out to the garden, the Beaufort Restaurant is a beautiful space to host your ceremony for up to 120 or wedding breakfast for up to 80 – exclusively yours until 5.30pm. The Beaufort Restaurant is effortlessly stylish, with large mirrors to reflect the natural light, original log fireplace and impressive wine feature wall!
Just outside the Restaurant, you’ll find the Beaufort Lounge – a cosy, contemporary space reserved exclusively for your guests to gather before and after the ceremony, complete with comfortable couches and access to the terrace and gardens.
Breeze House & Garden
Our acres of garden and woodland are beautifully manicured with immaculate lawns, hidden pathways and beds of wild flowers. Not only are our grounds a wonderful backdrop for your wedding photos, but they are also home to our timber-framed Breeze House, which is perfect for al fresco ceremonies of up to 120 guests.
Bedrooms
With 42 classic country bedrooms and plenty of parking for all, there’s no need for carriages at midnight after your wedding.
Your guests can choose from cosy Cotswold bedrooms in the Main House and Coach House or something a little more spacious and modern in Silkwood Court. We even have a number of dog-friendly rooms in case you want to bring a four-legged friend along!
Breakfast is included for all staying guests, with a delicious choice of full English, continental and a la carte dishes.
