From running hotels to running marathons…
Cotswold Inns and Hotels have been supporting Acorns Children’s Hospices for over five years now, raising over £50,000 for the charity. This has been thanks to the combined effort of the Cotswold Inns and Hotels team, our brilliant suppliers, and hugely generous customers.
Last year, we stepped the fundraising up a notch as our Managing Director, Paul Davis, challenged himself to run the London Marathon! After months of intense training, Paul completed the 26.2 mile course in just 4 hours and 51 minutes, raising a huge total of £18,085. Acorns used this donation to refurbish their Multi-Sensory room in the ‘Acorns for the Three Counties’ Hospice, based in Worcester.
This year, Paul is taking on the Marathon Man Challenge once more, and will be running the London Marathon for the second time on Sunday 23rd April 2017. This year, we hope to raise enough money to help Acorns refurbish their ‘hub’, where the children and their families spend a lot of their time.
To achieve this, we need to smash our 2016 target, so we have lots of fantastic fundraising taking place across the hotels, including a raffle to win a Jeroboam of Moët and Chandon Champagne, worth £230!
The Broadway Hotel will be serving a Cocktail for a Cause; the Burnt Orangeade Racer and Winners Whitebait, which is sure to be a popular snack in the bar. Over at The Manor House Hotel, they will be serving a Marathon Mezze (mushroom arancini, garlic aioli, chorizo and haloumi kebab) and delicious Rum Runner charity cocktails. A £1 donation from each sold will be donated to Acorns.
Also at The Manor House Hotel, Pastry Chef Ben has hand-crafted a giant chocolate Easter Egg which is being raffled off for £5 a ticket.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us with our fundraising so far, and if you’re yet to donate, please give generously and lets see what we can achieve for a very special cause this year!
