From running hotels to running Marathons…
At Cotswold Inns and Hotels we have been supporting Acorns Children’s Hospices for around five years and are delighted to have raised around £30,000 to date for the charity, which provides care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
This year, we stepped the fundraising up a notch as our Managing Director, Paul Davis, challenged himself to run the London Marathon!
Although Paul was a keen runner; squeezing in a morning jog every now and again, he was not used to running long distances, so months of training pursued before the big day on 24th April.
With a gaggle of family and friends from the office cheering from the sidelines (…wearing very fetching high-vis jackets and pink sparkly cowboy hats might I add), Paul appeared cool, calm and collected throughout the Marathon and completed the 26.2 mile trek in 4 hours, 51 minutes!
Having initially aimed to raise £5,000 for Acorns, we were delighted to achieve a huge total of £18,085, which will allow the charity to fully refurbish their Sensory Room in Worcester!
This fantastic total was achieved with many thanks to the combined efforts of our brilliant teams across the Cotswold Inns and Hotels group, donations from our lovely suppliers, and not forgetting our hugely generous customers.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in this fundraising and well done to Paul for taking on the Marathon Man challenge!
