BBC COUNTRYFILE LIVE AT BLENHEIM PALACE

This huge and exciting event combines the tradition of the UK’s best county fairs with the quality editorial and presentation of one of the BBC’s flagship programmes. Buy your tickets to enjoy exciting live arena shows, hands-on activities, Adam Henson’s farm, Q&A with the Countryfile presenters and much, much more – all within the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace.

 

2ND – 4TH AUGUST 2019

FESTIVAL OF BRITISH EVENTING AT GATCOMBE

The Festival of British Eventing takes place at Gatcombe Park near Stroud, the spectacular home of the Princess Royal and her family. It incorporates the British Open, Intermediate and Novice Championships, as well as the Amateur Championship.

 

23RD – 25TH AUGUST 2019

THE BIG FEASTIVAL

This family-friendly festival, held on Alex James’ Farm, is now a firm favourite in the Cotswolds thanks to its feel-good nature and unique combination of great food and great music! Last year’s line-up included Paloma Faith, Basement Jaxx and Craig David so we highly recommend snapping up tickets!

MORETON-IN-MARSH SHOW

With show-jumping, livestock and great local trade stands a-plenty, the Moreton-in-Marsh Show is one of the UK’s largest agricultural shows, and a great opportunity to sample the Cotswold countryside in a day… but if you want to make a weekend of it, The Manor House can accommodate!

BROADWAY HORTICULTURAL & CRAFT SHOW

Just ahead of the Harvest season, the annual horticultural and craft show takes over the village green with a lovely display of locally grown fruit and veg, flowers and ornamental plants, plus baked goods, jams and crafts.

BROADWAY FOOD FESTIVAL

Enjoy a day pottering around the pretty Cotswold village of Broadway with all sorts of lovely foodie treats… think local artisan producers, demonstrations by local chefs (look out for The Broadway Hotel’s cocktail & cooking demos) and the best of local food and drink! Free admission & a great day out for all the family.

CHELTENHAM LITERATURE FESTIVAL

The Times and The Sunday Times sponsor this ever-popular Literature festival, which welcomes the world’s best writers to Cheltenham. Last year the line up included Sir David Attenborough, Darcey Bussell and Lenny Henry.

 

19TH – 20Th OCTOBER 2019

COTSWOLDS FOOD & DRINK FAIR

An opportunity to sample local artisan food and drink with demonstrations from top chefs in the area at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s Toddington Station. Open 10am – 4pm throughout the weekend with free admission and parking. Steam rides and diesel train will be running at normal fares.

MORETON-IN-MARSH CHRISTMAS MARKET

Enjoy a stroll around Moreton-in-Marsh’s annual Christmas Market where there will be plenty of local stalls to browse and lots of food and drink to sample. Once ready to warm up, we recommend you join us in the Manor House Hotel bar for a Festive Cocktail (or two!)

BURFORD FESTIVAL

With a broad programme of music, theatre, film, talks, tours and community events; Burford Festival should not be missed! It will launch with a Festival Banquet, Open Gardens and concert by the a cappella group All the King’s Men and an exhilarating Shakespearean production by the Three Inch Fools. The second weekend will have a strong musical theme with a jazz pianist in concert, the full 80-strong Pendyrus Male Voice Choir, an outdoor jazz afternoon, and a grand finale by the Burford Singers.

 

8TH – 9TH JUNE 2019

HEINEKEN RACE TO BROADWAY TOWER

A double marathon through the heart of the heart of the Cotswolds – take on this unrelentingly beautiful and unforgettably challenging race to Broadway Tower! TETBURY WOOLSACK RACES

Gather in the beautiful market town of Tetbury as competitors demonstrate both strength and fitness, racing whilst carrying a sack of wool up and down a hill! Starts at 10am.

 

11TH – 25TH MAY 2019

CHIPPING CAMPDEN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

Launched in 2002, this festival has grown to become highly anticipated and the 2019 programme looks to be as exciting as ever with fantastic up-and-coming artists performing in the lovely town of Chipping Campden over a two-week period!

TETBURY WACKY RACES

Wobbly wagons and crazy carts will be taking over Tetbury when the annual Wacky Races comes to the Cotswolds, complete with stalls for family fun. What’s more, The Close Hotel is just down the road for drinks and lunch in the bar and beautiful garden.

BADMINTON HORSE TRIALS

The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials is one of the most popular and prestigious events in the equestrian calendar and perfectly positioned for guests at the Hare and Hounds Hotel, The Close and The Bear of Rodborough.

WARTIME IN THE COTSWOLDS

A light-hearted look at life on a Railway in the West of England. As you travel the line, you will be transported back to wartime Britain by re-enactors and entertainers in period costume. At stations there will be vintage vehicle displays, trade stands, music and dancing with a 1940’s theme. In Broadway village there will be live music on the green, a display of wartime vehicles and three special guests; King George VI, General Montgomery and Winston Churchill, arriving by Rolls Royce!

STEAM TRAINS RETURN TO BROADWAY!

After 58 years public train services will again run to Broadway Station! Thanks to the tireless work of our volunteers over many years we are delighted to open a further stretch of our line so you will be able to travel over 14 miles from the historic village of Broadway all the way to our Race Course Station at the town of Cheltenham. Over these 4 special days we will be running an intensive timetable with hourly departures from Cheltenham and Broadway.
