Come on in and take a seat. Let us welcome you to The Close Hotel. A picture of English splendour, this former 16th century town house is a country hotel like no other. Pop your phone on silent and let us show you why – for starters, it’s all about you; your stay, your enjoyment – everything revolves around you.
Switch off, snuggle up and look out from one of the big windows – a brilliant spot for a bit of people watching. You may even spy the odd royal with Highgrove and Gatcombe located just up the road. Observe the world go by as visitors stroll around Tetbury’s historic market place and indulge in the town’s boutiques and renowned antique shops – Tetbury is a mecca for collectors from around the world.
We look forward to welcoming you whether it’s with a drink in the bar, a plate of good food in the restaurant or a spot of Afternoon Tea in the garden. Venture upstairs to a comfortable bed in one of our beautiful rooms; you have 19 to choose from, each completely different but equally appealing. Come for a few nights and relax, fall in love and stay for a few more.
Lie back, take off your shoes and close your eyes as you sink into a bedroom that has been dressed with luxury comfort and comes equipped with a homely charm. We’ve taken our 20 bedrooms and created character and personality in each with big beds, fully loaded bathrooms (luxury toiletries, fluffy bathrobes and slippers) and some rather unique wallpaper. Classic country style blends with contemporary design to create rooms where no two are the same. Some have four-poster beds; others have walk-in rainfall showers made for two and views of the hotel’s gardens.
Indulge in a classic style that is truly unique to The Close, where the furniture combines antique with contemporary chic with fabrics to complement the individuality of each room. The warm tones of the décor add comfort, and the natural light uncovers the striking highlights of the inspiring artwork.
Our Good Rooms feature one double or twin beds (please state which you would prefer when making your reservation). Each one is beautifully furnished and comes complete with a Nespresso coffee machines, bathrobes and slippers.
Very Good Rooms
Cloisters is an Excellent room on the ground floor, available as a Double or Twin. The en-suite bathroom has a large walk-in shower and bath with TV, not to mention the luxurious toiletries, bathrobes and slippers!

Before you arrive
Reservations and enquiries can be made online, by phone, fax or email. Please ensure that our staff are made aware of any special requests or requirements at the earliest opportunity and we will do our best to help.
When you arrive
All our hotels have designated parking for those with mobility issues. Please ask when making your booking and we can let you know the best place to park and access the property. We will be delighted to collect your luggage from your car and deliver it to your room.
Our reception staff will be able to advise you about room facilities and access to bedrooms and public areas of the hotel.
Assistance dogs are welcome and no charge is made. Large print menus can be provided on request.

- Using low energy lighting
- Switching off all equipment when not in use, where possible
- Only lighting log fires during cooler weather
- Using local suppliers for food, drink and other consumables where we can
- Composting garden waste, recycling paper and card and sending cooking oil to be converted to biodiesel
- Asking guests to conserve water and switch off TVs when not in use
- Replacing towels when requested
