Join us on Saturday 5th February for our Wedding Open Day – 12 midday to 3 pm
Perched on top of Rodborough Common, with endless views over the surrounding Cotswold countryside, you’ll find The Bear of Rodborough Hotel. Full of charming quirks, The Bear boasts a setting to remember for your special day, whether you’re planning something small and intimate or a traditional big white wedding!
Dating back to the 17th Century, our former coaching inn has endless character with original stone archways and roaring log fires, not to mention a pair of friendly stuffed bears in Reception. We share our home on Rodborough Common with some special grazing locals… a herd of free-roaming Belted Galloway cows! They are often caught peering in through the windows, so we hope you don’t mind a few extra guests…
We have a wonderful collection of rooms from which to host your wedding day at The Bear and 46 cosy bedrooms for your guests to stay the night. Combine all of this with great food, fizz and an enthusiastic team, and you’re sure to create the big day of your dreams.

The Library Restaurant
The Library Restaurant is our largest space, with room for up to 90 guests. With its striking bookend wallpaper, abundance of great reads and stylish tartan carpet; wedding accessories can be kept to a minimum. A much-loved feature is the beautiful archway of logs, which showcases the history and character of The Bear.
Large windows at the bottom of the Restaurant make for a breathtaking backdrop to your ceremony, with views out over the common.
The Terrace Room
The Terrace Room is a light and open space, with room for up to 70 guests. Its neutral colour scheme allows you to take the reins when it comes to accessorising, whether you’re looking to create a colourful and fun theme, or something more in-keeping with the nature that surrounds us.
As the name may suggest, the Terrace Room opens onto our garden terrace and marquee! This will be reserved exclusively for your wedding party to enjoy reception drinks and canapes.
The Tower Room
The Garden & Pavilion
Not only are we located within 300 acres of National Trust land, but we have our own garden too! Our beautifully manicured garden is home to the Bear Pavilion; our al-fresco bar, which makes a wonderful backdrop for wedding photos and is the ideal spot for a few garden games.
At the bottom of the garden, the terrace is perfect for reception drinks and canapes on a sunny day.
Bedrooms
We have 46 cosy, country bedrooms at The Bear, so there’s no need for carriages at midnight on your wedding day! No two rooms are the same, having each been individually designed to make the most of their unique features. The overall look is quintessentially English, with a few little luxuries and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
What’s more, breakfast is included for all staying guests, with a delicious choice of full English, continental and a la carte dishes.
