Follow the windy roads through The Cotswolds and reach its heart, nestled in the tranquil village of Bibury right on the River Coln. It would be hard to find a better setting than this, the sort of place where you look at your surroundings and pinch yourself – yes you’re definitely not in a dream – you’re here at The Swan in Bibury.
Our handsome coaching inn is everything you picture it to be. It’s warm, relaxing, comfortable, refreshing, romantic, English, indulging, quintessential, quaint, unique, peaceful, equipped, sumptuous, good food, fine wine, with impeccable service. That just about covers it.
Find yourself relaxing in one of our 22 bedrooms – you won’t uncover any others quite like them anywhere else in The Cotswolds. Whether you’ve chosen one of our 18 bedrooms in the main hotel or one of the four garden cottage suites, no room is the same.
Individual design has been enriched by a collection of sumptuous antique furnishings and contemporary fabrics and wallpapers, which form their unique character. We’ve gone all out to ensure you have a comfortable stay at The Swan, and we hope that the Nespresso coffee machines in the bedrooms and the Molton Brown products in the bathrooms will help with that. Look out over our gardens, the meadows and the river while sinking back into an armchair without a care in the world.

The Family Suite provides ideal accommodation for a family or four adults sharing. It comprises a double room, and a twin room with one large bathroom with bath and shower.
Garden Cottage Suites
Located amidst the beautiful grounds of The Swan Hotel, our idyllic Garden Cottage Suites offer a little extra luxury and privacy in the heart of Bibury Village. Just like our rooms in the main hotel, all our cottage suites have their own personalities; each so charming it’s impossible to choose a favourite! Stay in one of our four cottage suites and enjoy some time relaxing in your own sitting room and soaking up the sunshine in your private garden – one cottage also benefits from a small kitchenette and another boasts the welcome addition of your own private hot tub!
Bewick Garden Cottage
Bewick Cottage is beautifully furnished and features a sitting room with realistic log burner fire and comfy chairs, ground floor en-suite with shower, kitchenette complete with fridge, microwave and dining table, en-suite bedroom with king-sized bed on the first floor and a private garden.
Garden Cottage Suites: Trumpeter and Whistling
The Trumpeter and Whistling Suites are furnished to the highest standard with their own gardens. They feature a sitting room on the ground floor and en-suite bedroom on the first floor. Additional facilities in this suite include a DVD player and IPod/MP3 docking station, Nespresso coffee machines and televisions.
Luxury cotton bathrobes and Molton Brown toiletries are also provided.
Whooper Garden Cottage Suite with Private Hot Tub
The Whooper Suite is furnished to the highest standard, with its own garden and luxurious private hot tub. It features a sitting room and a wet room shower room on the ground floor and en-suite bedroom on the first floor.
Additional facilities in this suite include a DVD player and IPod/MP3 docking station, Nespresso smart coffee machines and televisions. Luxury cotton bathrobes and Molton Brown toiletries are also provided.
The majority of our bedrooms are on the first floor which is accessible by a lift, however, three of our bedrooms are on the second floor. Please advise us of any mobility difficulties when booking and we’ll ensure your room is suitable.

Before you arrive
Reservations and enquiries can be made online, by phone, fax or email. Please ensure that our staff are made aware of any special requests or requirements at the earliest opportunity and we will do our best to help.
When you arrive
All our hotels have designated parking for those with mobility issues. Please ask when making your booking and we can let you know the best place to park and access the property. We will be delighted to collect your luggage from your car and deliver it to your room.
Our reception staff will be able to advise you about room facilities and access to bedrooms and public areas of the hotel. If you need a ground floor room, or a room that’s specially adapted with grab rails or a wet room, please request this at the time of booking.
Assistance dogs are welcome and no charge is made. Large print menus can be provided on request.
We have tried to include as much accurate detail as possible in our Accessibility Statement and we welcome your feedback, in order to continuously improve upon the information we give.

Cotswold Inns & Hotels is committed to working in a sustainable way and take care to reduce, re-use and recycle. We are continually working to improve our standards, which include:
- Using low energy lighting
- Switching off all equipment when not in use, where possible
- Only lighting log fires during cooler weather
- Using local suppliers for food, drink and other consumables where we can
- Composting garden waste, recycling paper and card and sending cooking oil to be converted to biodiesel
- Asking guests to conserve water and switch off TVs when not in use
- Replacing towels when requested
- Supporting the local community by offering sponsorship and raffle prizes, as well as discounted rates for local businesses needing accommodation.
